After we have made the final payment to client, we move to the final step in our process namely, the delivering of the Undertaking.
Upon receipt of the Section 17(4)(a) Undertaking from the Road Accident Fund, we contact the client and deliver the Section 17(4)(a) Undertaking to the client together with an explanatory letter and copies of the court order as well as all medico legal reports.
This is done to enable the client to obtain the necessary future medical treatment as recommended by our medical experts and to recover the costs thereof from the RAF in terms of the Section 17(4)(a) Undertaking.
Should a client encounter any problem in recovering expenses from the RAF in terms of the Undertaking, the client can contact our offices for assistance in this regard and we will do the necessary to enforce the Undertaking and to recover all accident related costs.
At this point, we have now reached the end of our mandate and the matter is therefore now regarded as finalized.
Our client’s files are now archived for a period of 5 years as stipulated according to the requirements of the Legal Practice Council.
